As global warming worsens condition, the climate summit held in Paris discussed ways on how to properly deal with this worldwide crisis. And one country announced their outstanding performance in dealing with it – Uruguay’s smart move by shifting into renewable energy.In just 10 years, Uruguay has shifted to getting 95% of its electricity from renewable energy. They use wind and solar energy to back-up their hydro power plants which was able to sustain the country’s electricity demands.

China plans to build a safe and environmentally friendly smart-grid system by 2020 as it promotes the spread of clean energy.The nation will build long-distance transmission networks and active power distribution networks to fully use hydro power, wind and solar, according to a statement from the National Development and Reform Commission.

Orangeville Hydro is offering a service, called the Home Energy Audit Lending Program, wherein participants can borrow one of 25 home energy audit kits for up to two months.

Offered to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis, the kits are actually two kits in one.

Following the commitment made by President Obama last year in Cairo to support broader economic development in Muslim-majority communities, USTDA’s project opportunities include gas-fired combined cycle, cogeneration, solar, wind, hydro and biomass power generation, rural electrification, transmission and distribution upgrades, smart grid technologies, and regional interconnections. Delegations from Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, the Palestinian Territories, and Yemen will present their projects during the two-and-a-half-day event organized by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
