Cisco announced that it is participating in the second edition of Internet of Things Expo 2016 (IoTX), which will be held from March 29-31, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. As the platinum sponsor of the event, Cisco will demonstrate ‘real life’ smart city scenarios as well as showcase its world-class IoT solutions including the Cisco Digital Ceiling framework at the technology exhibition.Cisco Middle East’s Chief Technology Officer, Osama Al-Zoubi, will deliver a keynote titled ‘Limitless possibilities, imminent disruption: igniting innovation and exponential growth through Digital Transformation’ on March 30, 2016 at 12:45 pm. Shukri Eid, Cisco’s Customer Solutions Director, will speak on ‘What can business do about their biggest IoT vulnerabilities?’ at a panel discussion on March 29, 2016 at 3.15 pm.

There could be more than a million new embedded IoT device developers in the next five years and they will be relying on new types of design tools which will be easier to use.

This was the startling message from the IoT Design Conference and exhibition, which was organised byElectronics Weekly in London this week.

GE Energy Management presented new smart grid capabilities at the Saudi Arabia Smart Grid 2015 conference and exhibition in Jeddah this week. “The outdated, one-way, linear, passive approach in power delivery is now evolving toward an open, interactive, interconnected model,” GE Saudi Arabia and Bahrain President and CEO Hisham Al Bahkali said. “This transformation has been made possible by the improvements in information and communications technology.
