ASHRAE/NEMA Standard 201P will provide common basis with which electrical energy consumers can describe, manage, and communicate regarding electrical energy consumptions and forecasts. Defined object-oriented information model would enable appliances and control systems to manage electrical loads and generation sources in response to communication with smart electrical grid as well as communicate information about those electrical loads to utilities and electrical service providers.
