The University of Ottawa and Almonte-based Triacta Power Technologies Inc., a maker and distributor of smart electricity meters, have signed a deal to install the company’s products on campus.

The company will install its PowerHawk multi-circuit meters within the school’s Jock Turcot University Centre building, it said in a release. Triacta said the meters will help the university monitor power used by kitchen appliances, exhaust fans, air circulation units, freight and passenger elevators, lighting and wall outlets.
