Zigbee and Wi-Fi backers will collaborate to bring the Smart Energy 2.0 protocol to Wi-Fi networks. The protocol, developed by Zigbee and powerline proponents, is seen by utilities including Pacific Gas and Electric as a key underpinning for linking smart energy devices in the home.
