As utilities work to implement a smart grid, one of the biggest challenges they must address is the development and deployment of a reliable communication systems capable of handling multiple applications, each having diverse requirements. S&C Electric Company, a Smart Grid leader shaping the future of reliable electrical delivery, recognized this need and today announced the creation of its new Communications Systems business.

The event is scheduled for October 4-6, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Smart Grid Summit is the first event of its kind to address the intersection of two core economic building blocks - utilities and communications. Conference sessions and keynote addresses equip companies building and using the Smart Grid to overcome the same transformational issues that telecom experienced with the advent of IP communications technologies. Smart Grid Summit is once again collocated with TMC's ITEXPO conference and trade show. ITEXPO is the world's largest and best-attended event focused on IP communications technology.
