Nationally recognized electric utility expert Kurt Yeager says the city’s plan to upgrade its power grid is a smart use of federal money.

Yeager, who is the executive director of the Galvin Electricity Initiative and an advocate of smart grid designs, lists Leesburg as one of his top 20 picks for smart grid improvements in the Nov. 13 edition of Smart Grid Today News Journal, a utility industry trade magazine.
