Q: Why is the Smart Grid program so important to OG&E?

A: We believe our customers will benefit tremendously from the investment. Smart Grid technology delivers operational improvements that help OG&E reduce operating costs while improving our ability to anticipate, manage and respond to power outages. The Smart Grid will also provide customers with the information and tools necessary to better manage their energy usage and energy costs. This creates immediate opportunities to lower the monthly bill, and it also can reduce peak demand and delay the need for additional fossil-fueled power plants.
