With increasing focus on green energy initiatives and sustainable power, the International CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2009® tradeshow and conference will feature smart energy solutions, including smart grid, on the keynote stage and in partner and educational sessions. This year’s show will feature a keynote address from J. Chris Baker, senior vice president of shared services and CIO of San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Gas Co.; two partner seminars on the topics of Smart Energy and Smart Telemetry; and a CTIA educational session on the role of telecommunications in helping utilities “go green.” International CTIA WIRELESS IT & E takes place October 7-9 at the San Diego Convention Center.

As part of the show’s focus on smart energy, Baker joins International CTIA WIRELESS IT & E’s keynote roster. On Wednesday, October 7 at 9:30 a.m., Baker, whose responsibilities at the regulated public utilities include information technology; supply management; fleet services; and diverse business enterprises, will discuss the company’s aggressive smart energy initiatives and share real-world examples illustrating the impact of mobile technology.
