The US smart grid organisation GridWise® Alliance and the Korea Smart Grid Association (KGSA) will share best practices regarding modernisation of the electric system, strengthening the organisations’ ability to help make Smart Grid a reality in their respective countries.

“This agreement signals an important alliance between our two organisations, both of which provide leadership in Smart Grid policy for our respective countries,” says Guido Bartels, Chair of GridWise Alliance. “We are thrilled with the prospect of working with Korea on global efforts to further Smart Grid.”

Koo Ja-Kyun, Chairman of the Korea Smart Grid Association, adds: “Our President Lee Myung-Bak considers Smart Grid one of the highest priorities in securing a green environment and economy for Korea.”

Just as President Obama mentions Smart Grid as a priority in nearly all of his energy speeches, Korean President Lee Myung-Bak is making the Smart Grid a cornerstone of the greening of the Korean economy. The two leaders met in Washington D.C. in June to discuss a variety of issues, including Smart Grid.
